Imabari, Japan – November 2025. As part of the celebrations for the 122nd anniversary of the Republic of Panama and the 10th anniversary of the Segumar office in Imabari, an official reception was held in the Japanese city of Imabari, attended by more than 100 guests from the maritime sector and representatives of the Imabari City Council.
The event was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Imabari, Tadahiro Doi, as well as important representatives of the local maritime sector. During the reception, the importance of Imabari as a leading city in the Japanese naval industry and its close relationship with Panama through the Panamanian Ship Registry, the largest in the world, was highlighted.
Likewise, the importance of the sister city ties between Panama and Imabari was highlighted, which have strengthened cultural, economic, and maritime cooperation between both nations. The celebration reaffirmed Panama’s commitment to maintaining and expanding its presence in Japan, consolidating strategic and friendly relations with local authorities and key players in the maritime industry.
The reception also included cultural and gastronomic elements that allowed guests to learn about and enjoy Panama’s cultural richness, promoting friendship and exchange between both countries.
