The Minister of Maritime Affairs and Administrator of the Panama Maritime Authority, Luis Roquebert, accompanied by the Director General of the Merchant Marine, Ramón Franco, are on an official visit to Japan from February 3 to 8, in the cities of Kobe, Osaka and Imabari, with the primary objective of strengthening relations with the portfolio of maritime clients of the Panamanian flag registry, as well as strengthening commercial ties with important players in the sector.
The delegation’s program includes meetings with leading shipping companies, banks and law firms with ties to the maritime industry, in order to promote and consolidate business opportunities in the international maritime field. In addition, the agenda includes a visit to the Panamanian Consulate General in Kobe, as well as to the Segumar office in Imabari, where the work of promoting and strengthening the presence of the Panamanian Ship Registry at a global level will continue.
This visit underscores the commitment of the Government of Panama to continue consolidating its leadership in the global maritime sector and the continuous effort to maintain strategic commercial and diplomatic relations that benefit the country and its economy.
