Panama officially opened its pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, marking its participation in one of the most important international events of the year, which brings together more than 150 countries under the theme “Designing the Future Society for Our Lives.
Under the concept “Saving Lives”, the Panamanian pavilion offers a proposal that highlights the country’s role as a regional leader in sustainability, one of the four carbon negative countries, and a strategic bridge for connectivity, biodiversity and culture.
The opening ceremony was led by the Panamanian delegation comprised of the Panamanian Ambassador to Japan, Walter Cohen, the Consul General of Panama in Kobe, Alejandro de Leon and the Deputy Commissioner General of Panama for Expo 2025 Osaka, Any Lam Chong, who were accompanied by authorities of the organizing committee, international delegations and diplomatic representatives.
Panama’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka represents a strategic opportunity to project the country as a benchmark for sustainable development and innovation, and as an actor committed to the global challenges of the present and the future.
The stand, located in Pavilion CS-2 | Stand E85, features an immersive experience that presents the country from different perspectives: its rich biodiversity, the strategic importance of the Panama Canal, the multiculturalism that defines it and the quality of life that positions it as an attractive destination for tourism, investment and sustainability.
Throughout the six months of the Expo, Panama will develop a dynamic agenda that will include thematic weeks, cultural presentations and audiovisual exhibitions, in order to connect with the international public and highlight its proposal as a country committed to the future of the planet.
Panama’s National Day will be celebrated on September 6, 2025, with the participation of an official delegation and a special program that will highlight the country’s cultural identity.
Panama’s participation in Expo Osaka 2025 is led by PROMTUR Panama, in coordination with the Panama Tourism Authority, the Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MICI) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as part of an inter-institutional effort to consolidate the country’s presence in global scenarios.
