Consul General of Panama in Kobe Attends Official Opening Ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kosovo 

Kobe, Japan — June 12, 2026. The Consul General of Panama in Kobe attended the official ceremony marking the establishment of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kosovo in the city of Kobe—an event that brought together diplomatic representatives, local authorities, and members of the consular corps accredited in the Kansai region. 

The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Kosovo to Japan, who presided over the proceedings, as well as Honorary Consul Tosh Minohara, who has been appointed to lead the new consular mission in Kobe. The participation of these officials underscored the strategic importance of strengthening Kosovo’s presence in the region and fostering new opportunities for cooperation. 

During the event, the significance of opening new consular missions was highlighted as a means to boost economic, cultural, and academic exchange between nations, while also consolidating collaboration with municipal authorities and key stakeholders in the Kansai region. 

The attendance of Panama’s Consul General at this ceremony helped enhance Panama’s institutional visibility within the Kansai consular corps and reaffirmed the Panamanian mission’s commitment to actively participating in initiatives that promote international cooperation and understanding among nations.

It is an honor to serve as Consul General of this office which has its consular jurisdiction over the Fukui, Kinki, Chugoku, Shikoku and Kyushu regions.

We are located in the second metropolitan region of Japan and in one of the largest shipping centers of the world. Furthermore, we supervise and work together as a team with the office of the Panama Maritime Authority located in the city of Imabari, which is a sister city of Panama city.

Our office essentially provides Maritime and Consular Services along with the promotion of the Panamanian culture and the enhancement of the trade and academic relationships between Panama and the people, companies and institutions of western Japan.

This site aims to provide general information about our country, the Panama Merchant Marine along with other consular and cultural services that our office provides within western Japan, giving you a better understanding of the role and functions of our Office.
