The Consul General of Panama in Kobe participated in a session of the Science and Technology Diplomatic Circle (STDC), an event that brought together the consular corps accredited in the Kansai region at the Yanmar Agribusiness facilities.  The event provided a firsthand look at the technological advancements and innovation initiatives Yanmar is developing in the fields of smart agriculture, high-efficiency machinery, and sustainable solutions for the agro-industrial sector. Osaka, Japan — March 23, 2026. As part of the legacy of Panama’s pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, the Consul General and the Deputy Commissioner General officially presented the Panamanian pavilion’s uniform to the Osaka World Expo Promotion Bureau.  This contribution is part of efforts to preserve the memory of the exposition, as the Bureau is considering the construction of a commemorative hall to display items representing the various international pavilions, including the uniforms worn by their delegations.  During the visit, the Panamanian delegation was welcomed by the Bureau’s directors general, who congratulated Panama on winning the Gold Award for Best Exhibition Design—an honor highlighting the creativity, identity, and quality of the national pavilion. 

Kansai, Japan — February 26, 2024. The Consulate General participated in a session of the Kansai Consular Forum, a platform that brings together consular representatives from the region to address matters of common interest and relevant local issues.  During the session, up-to-date information was exchanged regarding preparations for and projected outcomes of Expo Osaka Kansai 2025, one of the most significant international events to be held in Japan. Additionally, the group reviewed Japanese government initiatives aimed at sustaining the economic and social momentum generated by the Expo, with a focus on innovation, tourism, and regional development.  The Consulate’s participation helped strengthen diplomatic coordination, facilitate the sharing of perspectives on local challenges, and contribute to the alignment

Kobe, Japan — February 18, 2024. The Consul General of Panama In Kobe participated in a working meeting with representatives from Murata Technologies as part of the activities of the Science and Technology Diplomatic Circle (STDC) Kansai, a group dedicated to fostering diplomatic exchange regarding innovation and scientific development.  During the meeting, the parties reviewed areas of technological cooperation, opportunities for institutional exchange, and potential avenues for future collaboration between the company and the consulate. Discussions focused on initiatives related to applied innovation, technological development, and the strengthening of networks among public and private sector stakeholders.  The dialogue helped consolidate institutional ties and paved the way for joint projects that contribute to positioning the Kansai region as a hub
