Osaka, Japan – September 6, 2025. As part of the celebrations for Panama’s National Day at Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, an official reception was held in honor of the President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, and the Panamanian delegation that accompanied him on this diplomatic and commercial mission.
The event brought together more than 250 guests, including Japanese authorities, members of the diplomatic corps, businesspeople, representatives of international organizations, and friends of Panama, who enjoyed a gala evening that highlighted Panama’s identity and cultural richness.
The reception was also attended by important representatives of the Japanese maritime sector, reinforcing ties of cooperation with Panama and highlighting the relevance of the Panamanian Registry, a world leader in the global shipping industry. This participation reaffirmed the strength of the maritime relationship between the two countries and Panama’s commitment to excellence in its maritime services.
The evening offered attendees an outstanding display of Panamanian folklore, with artistic performances that reflected the country’s cultural diversity, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture. The gastronomic experience was led by Panamanian chefs Isaac Villaverde and Armando Bramwell, who presented a selection of Afro-Panamanian dishes.
Guests also enjoyed a tasting of world-renowned Geisha coffee and an atmosphere decorated with traditional elements that evoked Panamanian warmth and authenticity.
The evening demonstrated Panama’s commitment to showcasing its culture, talent, maritime strength, and tourism offerings to the Japanese and international audience present at the Expo, strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
