Last Friday, with the support of the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies (GEGES) of Kyoto University we started the “Climate Change Interconnectedness Seminar” with the participation of four speakers from Italy, Japan, Fiji and off course, Panama.
The Consul General of the Republic of Panama in Kobe, Mr. Victor Almengor, had the chance to give some short opening remarks. Then the seminar was followed by four speakers as follows:
• Ms. Maria Kapell as a speaker from the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Panama.
• Ms. Irene Petraroli, organizer and speaker from Italy.
• Ms. Junko Kondo, speaker from Japan.
• Mrs. Drue Slatter, speaker from Fiji.
Thanks to the organizers and specially to Professor Roger Baars and Professor Irene Petraroli for their support and organization of this Seminar which took almost six months.
We hope that this initiative with students and professors at Kyoto University will serve the purpose of Panama as a connector of people and countries, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals related to climate change awareness.
