Last week, the Governor of Osaka, Mr. Hirofumi Yoshimura and the Mayor of Osaka, Mr. Hideyuki Yokoyama hosted a meeting with 16 Consul Generals of Kansai in order to exchange views on the upcoming year and especially about the Osaka Expo 2025.
The City and Prefectural officers explained to all of us about the future plans to bolster Osaka growth while many of the diplomats indicated their country plans to begin construction or organization of their pavilions.
As this was the final participation of Consul General Almengor as a representative of Panama, he took the opportunity to express his deepest appreciation for the great number of activities that both governments (prefecture and city) had undertaken with Panama since 2022, especially the signature of a Port Affiliation MOU last year between the ports of Osaka and Panama.
Consul General Almengor also highlighted the visa waiver measure for all Panamanians which was recently announced by the government of Japan as an important measure towards the Expo participation of Panama and to the further cultural exchange between the citizens of both countries.
Thanks to Governor Yoshimura and to Mayor Yokoyama for their interest in connecting our countries!!
