The Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Osaka Ports and Harbor Bureau related to port management, passenger transport, port decarbonization initiatives and enhancement of trading routes among others. The Agreement was signed by His Excellency Noriel Arauz, Administrator of the
Panama Maritime Authority and Mr. Junya Maruyama Director of the Osaka Ports and Harbor Bureau.
His Excellency Hideo Fukushima, Japan Ambassador to Panama, Mr. Seigo Tanaka Vice Governor of the Osaka Prefecture and Consul General Victor Almengor, served as witnesses of
the agreement along with Mrs. Elvia Bustavino, Deputy Maritime Administrator of the Panama Maritime Authority and Mrs Flor Pitty (Eng) Director of Ports and Ancilliary Industries of the Panama Maritime Authority.
During the ceremony all parties praised the relationship and longstanding alliance between Panama and Japan aiming to enhance this relationship by closing ties with the Kansai region.
